Phil Harrison: I’d love to turn Ghostbusters in a US$ 100 million franchise
Atari President Phil Harrison wants to prove Activision wrong for dropping Ghostbusters like a hot potato when it merged with Blizzard, saying he wants to turn the video game into a US$ 100 million franchise. So much for Atari’s goal to be “just an online company,” and I couldn’t be happier for them. Go Harrison!
Atari President Phil Harrison wants to prove Activision wrong for dropping Ghostbusters (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS) like a hot potato when it merged with Blizzard:
What Bobby, perhaps unhelpfully said, was that those games were franchises which wouldnÂ’t make $100m of revenue and generate sequels.
If that’s his benchmark, then fine – and we’d love to aspire to the same benchmarks. But you know what? I would love to turn Ghostbusters into a $100m franchise, just to prove him wrong.
So much for Atari’s goal to be “just an online company,” and I couldn’t be happier for them. They were in trouble so… who did they call? Ok, that was cheesy. What can you do, I’m stuck in the office with a hangover just waiting to rear its ugly head. Anyway, go Harrison!
Ghostbusters was recently pushed back a couple of months to June so that the devs can add “more creepy elements” to the game. The devs stated that when Atari picked up the title, it gave them a chance to make the game better. I really want this game. I also want a Stay Puft Marshmallow Man plushie. And an aspirin.
