phone 16 Pro to have 5x optical focus, Apple provider teases
Apple upgrades the iPhone’s camera every year. These changes will be particularly significant with the iPhone 16 lineup. A new report from a supplier has confirmed a key rumor about the iPhone 16 Pro’s camera enhancements. This is just two months before the iPhone 16 is expected to debut. Last year, when the iPhone 15 lineup was launched, the 15 Pro Max featured an exclusive camera feature. It was a tetraprism lens that allowed up to 5x digital zoom and 25x optical zoom. This was a significant improvement over previous models’ zoom abilities.
Industry sources claim that Apple will expand the use periscope lenses on its upcoming iPhone models. The primary suppliers are expected to be Largan Precision (Taiwan) and Genius Electronic Optical(GSEO), two Taiwanese manufacturers of lens modules.
Largan supplied periscope lens for the premium iPhone 15 Pro Max that was launched last year. In the upcoming iPhone lineup, more models will have periscope lenses. GSEO will likely be a new iPhone supplier this year.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max was praised for its 5x zoom capability last year. This led many people in the smaller Pro camp, to consider the larger Max. Even if Pro Max buyers longed for the upgraded camera on the Pro standard model, the large display size increase is a big change. It’s possible that the 16 Pro Max camera will receive a new feature this year. However, we hope the Pro models can return to feature parity so buyers can choose the model they prefer without missing anything special.
