Lexar Professional Go Portable SD with Hub
Last updated 25 minutes. Lexar’s Professional Go Portable SSD and Hub offers iPhone filmmakers the ability to record footage externally in a compact package. Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro line introduced USB-C, which enabled users to record 4K Pro Res 60fps video to an external storage. Although users can connect an SSD to their iPhone via a cable, this can interfere with recording. Lexar, a storage producer, has developed its own solution in the form of Professional Go Portable SSD With Hub. The concept consists of two components. The Lexar Professional Go Portable SSD is a compact drive that measures just 1.71 inches, 0.98 inches and 0.32 inches. It is equipped with a USB C plug and can be inserted directly into the base of iPhone 15 Pro models to record directly. The drive can be placed behind the iPhone using adapters. This will save space and keep it out of the user’s way. The SSD is available in capacities of 1TB and 2TB. It has fast file transfer rates, with speeds up to 1,000MB/s when writing and 1,050MB/s when reading under optimal conditions. Hub is a USB-C docking station. The Hub is a USB-C expansion dock that measures 2.71 inches wide by 1.71 inches high by 0.32 inch thick. It’s designed to plug the SSD directly into it. The entire package is about the same size as the iPhone. The Hub is designed to be plugged in using the rigid USB-C connectors included at the base of the iPhone. However, it will also be hidden around the rear. This reduces the number of wires visible, resulting in an iPhone videography setup that is cleaner. The Hub has four USB Type C connectors. The Hub has four USB Type-C connectors: one for connecting the iPhone or computer, two for SSDs and accessories and one for a power supply. The Hub can deliver up to 30W to the iPhone when using a power bank. The SSD weighs 0.8 ounces and the Hub adds another 0.46 ounces. Lexar’s Professional Go Portable SSD and Hub is available via Kickstarter in packages starting at $129 for a 1TB drive, or $159 with the Hub. The funding period is until August 31. It has already exceeded its financial goals by a significant margin.
