PiMPStreamer V0.13 – How to make it work

In response to some of the comments posted earlier from the release of DickyDick1969’s PiMPStreamer V0.13, i’ve decided to write a small FAQ for those having problems.

For this FAQ, I assume that you have already downloaded and installed PIMPStreamer 0.13

1) Firstly, DickyDick1969 himself said that this release was just a ‘quick fix’ because of the feedback he received from the last release.

2) This is in no way a fully functional release, and with any homebrew application, don’t expect it to work with everything – in this case, don’t expect it to work with all videos or formats.

3) Now, as i said above, this won’t work with all movies or video formats, so if you cannot get a certain video to work, download the video DickyDick1969 used in his demo.

4) When you start “Pimpstreamer.exe” make sure you enter the correct directory of the move (i.e. C:/War3-Movie-Trailer.avi) into the “movie path”box.

5) Make sure you read the included instructions, named “Usage.txt” and mak the appropriate changes to the pmp.ini file.

6) Make sure nothing is blocking the streaming, a firewall for example.

7) Test it out on your PSP

Sure, this won’t tell you whether it’ll work with other video formats or not, but it’ll check that it is infact a video format compatibility issue, and not the homebrew application itself. You’d be suprised how many people don’t read the readme.

DickyDick1969 is working on another release, so if it still doesn’t work after following these instructions, give him some feedback.
