Pingalo v0.19 Beta – homebrew game for DS

Oh, no! Not another penguin movie game. If you think the tide of cute, flightless birds has finally ended, then think again. TomyzFlash, a first-time homebrew developer, has created a puzzle game using PAlib which exploits these adorable Tuxedo Sam-lookalikes and, at the same time, gives your brain a quick jump start as you waddle your way through the different puzzles in the game.

But seriously, for a first-time homebrew game it wasn’t a pretty bad try. The added fact that the protagonist is a penguin gives the game points for cuteness factor alone. This beta version for Pingalo sports a quick five levels where the penguin you control has to navigate through its frozen environment by pushing blocks through the use of a stylus, while you nudge stolen eggs and usher lost baby penguins towards the exit of every level.

Pingalo is quite simple and gives your brain a brisk exercise as you try to solve each puzzle the game presents. While it doesn’t have any sound support just yet, the developer has promised more updates in the days to come and welcomes any feedback players have to offer about his homebrew game.
