Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End – 1080p for PS3 and 360; PAL 60 for Wii
Producer Jeff Blattner confirms to IGN that if you want Elizabeth Swann hot, you get her hot, but you better ready your TV set for the steam. They are aiming for a Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End experience with native 1080p with zero performance hitches on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
On a lot of my press events what I’ve had to do is say that I’m 95% sure that I’m going to be able to deliver it at 1080p, but I can tell you today that I’m 100% sure we’re going to deliver it at 1080p.
So that’s native 1080p for 360 and PS3?
That’s right.
There’s no performance hit at 1080p?
No, that was why I was giving the 95%. We had to make sure that every area of the game performed suitably and those players wouldn’t be penalized for the better visual quality.
Which leaves, among the consoles, the Wii – that white box gets its own set of video goodness. The Wii Pirates will ship with a PAL 60 option up to 480p.
