Play.com on the PS3 PAL launch: “We will deliver”
We reported months back about Play.com accepting PS3 pre-orders. Fast forward to the present time – the PS3 is nearing its PAL launch and Play.com promises that they will deliver all its PS3 bundle offers. The bundle includes the PS3 and three games – MotorStorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, and Genji: Days of the Blade.
According to the company’s head of games, Gian Luzio, they have seen an overwhelming number of pre-orders for the PS3 over the past few months – in spite of the fact that they didn’t actively market the product. He added that it is obviously going to be a huge launch and they want to take all the necessary measures for them to meet demands.
Luzio then mentioned that they also received strong number of pre-orders during the launch of the last two consoles, but because of shortages they were unable to fulfill those orders on day one. This time around, they promised that things would be different. He says:
We know that this disappointed some of our customers and we wanted to ensure that we did not face the same situation again. We have been working hard with Sony to make sure that we can deliver every pre-order on the release date. We are pleased to be able to offer our customers the service they expect from Play.com.
