A QJ reader who goes by the name of jojo has dropped us an email informing us that thanks to custom firmware 5.00 M33’s video output update, PSP owners can now play their NES games on a regular TV.

Jojo’s tip on how to do this is a bit of a long workaround. First, you’ll have to use imbNES (you can download it below) to add your NES roms to an ISO. Once that’s done, you can turn the ISO into a PSP Eboot using a Popstation GUI like PSX2PSP. You can then connect your PSP to your TV, run the Eboot on your PSP, and there you have it – NES games on your TV.

There are probably a ton of easier ways to do this, but hey, but if you have some time on your hands and would like to see old-school Mario as big as life on your kickass TV set, you might consider giving this a try.

Download: imbNES v1.3.2
Download: PSX2PSP v1.3

Thanks to jojo for the tip!
