Last month, DivX Inc. sent out the good news that they were planning to upgrade the Sony PlayStation 3 console with DivX technology. That aside, they didn’t state when this update would arrive, which brings us to today’s new snippet.

The company has hinted that the support would be available with the PS3’s next firmware update; the FW itself is expected to arrive very soon. It actually makes sense, given that the PS3’s next patch will also reportedly carry inter-connectivity functions for BD-Live Blu-ray movies.
