PlayStation Day 08: Sony bringing indie music to PSN through reality TV
One way to diversify a particular service is to make different sorts of content available for that said service. That being said, Sony is set on doing something groundbreaking for PS3 and PSP users: the company is planning on making a PSN-based reality TV service that focuses on finding great indie music across Europe! Learn more about it after the jump!
There’s some good news for music lovers over at the recently-held PlayStation Day. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announced that the company would be coming up with a PSN-only reality TV series that seeks to find the best indie music in Europe.
According to announcement, SCEE’s show, which will be called Movement, will feature hosts Spencer and Martin as they travel across Europe looking for great unsigned musicians. In other words, each episode of Movement should showcase some pretty interesting characters, as well as some diverse tastes in music.
Movement will culminate in one band getting selected as the winner, and they’ll get to have a professional promotional video made for them, in the hopes that they can eventually reach stardom.
We’re quite intrigued with the whole prospect, and we hope it takes off. It might just usher in a new age of digital content on the PSN, if it happens to be successful. In any case, keep checking QJ for updates on Movement.
