Remember those “Reflections” ads for Sony‘s new ad campaign? While it did seem to focus on the Christmas season, truth is it’s just a small part of an even bigger campaign waiting for its culmination to be unleashed.

Today, we learn more about these efforts as Peter Diller, Senior VP of Marketing & PlayStation Network for Sony, put up a post on the PlayStation Blog entitled “PlayStation: Entertainment Unleashed”.

The other videos released for the said campaign feature the PS3’s big three (LBP, MotorStorm, Resistance 2) invading the cityscape, and with their Blu-ray friends to boot (Batman and Hancock). All this is but a build-up to the PlayStation Network ad that will be making its debut this weekend.

Here’s what Dille had to say about it:

So with [PS3] tremendous growth and adoption, we thought it was time to give the PlayStation Network its own moment in the sun with a TV spot that sings its praises. This PlayStation Network ad will also make its debut this weekend. The ad is a metaphor and itself depicts the relentless spread of the PlayStation message from user to user. We’ve featured various ways you can “Download/Play/Connect.”

But why not just see it for yourself? We’ve got the video right here for the yet-to-debut PSN ad. I’d have to say they’ve gone a long way from getting those hairballs to do the pitch for the PSP, yes?
