PlayStation Home not part of PS3 firmware 2.30
PlayStation Home has been a consistent target of rumors, with the latest involving the hacking of its open beta. However, here’s some rare official word on the community-based online service. Over at the PlayStation Blog, Sony representative Noel Silvia states that Home will not be arriving with Firmware 2.30. More details after the jump.
Are you one of the many Sony PlayStation 3 gamers who have already grown impatient of waiting for PlayStation Home? Having been in development since 2005, the community-based online service had been promised before for an October 2007 release only to be delayed during the Tokyo Game Show. Now, the Spring 2008 timetable is looming. Will we get disappointed again?
Over the past days, reports of its imminent public beta this May and a rumor of its hacking may have revived some of your interest as of late. But don’t get too caught up. If you were secretly hoping that Sony will release Home together with the upcoming Firmware 2.30, Sony PlayStation Network representative Noel Silvia gives us a reality check over at the PlayStation Blog (check the image above).
But it’s just a matter of time before the reported May public beta so a little more patience may do us some good. Sooner or later, we’ll find out if PlayStation Home was worth the wait. More updates as QJ.NET gets them.
