PlayStation Network cards released at Meijer
Ever wondered what the happened to those PlayStation Network cards spotted in the wild some time ago? Well, the hide-and-seek game is finally up! It’s time to stop bugging your parents for their credit cards just to get some PS Store credits, because now, you can pay for them up in the counter at Meijer retail outlets. Though they’re currently exclusive at Meijer, there just might be hope for the cards to arrive in other stores like Gamestop. Hunt for more elusive details in the full article.
Pop the cork open: the PlayStation Network cards for North America are here! Well, they’ve been here for quite some time now, actually, but they’ve been pretty hard to find in their hide-and-seek game with the consumers.
A friendly blogger by the name Mana Knight posted all about his little (mis-)adventure with the PSN cards.
See, he actually had quite a bit of trouble activating the credits online via the PlayStation Store at first (both on the PS3 and PC), but after enough running around the bee line of customer service, he finally got the card working.
Now here’s an interesting bit: through his course of talking with PSN representatives, he was asked where he got his PSN card. It was confirmed that (as Mana Knight puts it): “Meijer IS the only retailer currently selling the card right now.”
Of course, the term “currently” might get your hopes up. This suggests that there might be a possibility that the highly elusive cards would eventually land in other retail outlets like Gamestop, Best Buy, Target, or Wal-Mart.
So there you have it.
Now, you (especially if you live in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, or Ohio – since those are the only states that have Meijer stores) don’t have to ask your parents for their credit cards in order to get some online credit for the PS Store.
Time to start downloading those games on your PS3 and/or PSP with impunity! Well, until your online credit runs dry, at least.
