PlayStation Store: Ready for first game batch

PS store

Set your watches. IGN just reported that in a matter of hours, the Japanese version of the Playstation Store will be releasing their very first line-up of downloadable games at  Â¥525 (USD$ 4.40) per pop. Prepped to be PSP-compatible, these games are to be DL’ed from the main site via your newly-bought (and hopefully scratch-free) PS3’s, from where it’ll be remote-uploaded to the PSP.

Now for the bad news: this feature’s only for PS3’s registered with a Japanese account, so the rest of us hairy Gaijin will have to wait just a little longer before we too can enjoy this treat.

And on a final note: You’ll need to have both your PSP and PS3 upped to their corresponding firmwares to make use of this DL capability. The good news is that aside from being able to upload compatible games from your PS3, this update also allows you to remote-view the PS3’s media items on your PSP. This feature’s only available on the 60GB version, though.

Resident Evil Director’s Cut (Capcom)
Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol.1 (Konami)
Konami Antiques MSX Collection Vol.2 (Konami)
Bishi Bashi Special (Konami)
Arc the Lad (SCEJ)
Jumping Flash! (SCEJ)
Hot Shots Golf 2 (SCEJ)
Silent Bomber (Bandai Namco Games)
Tekken 2 (Bandai Namco Games)
