Hey guys, guess what. Sony‘s just announced its tie-up with Youtube, the PlayStation Youtube Channel.
This channel goes live today, and promises to be a place where users can easily access new trailers and game footage, as well as get more first-hand information through interviews with publisher and developers alike. You can even customize your own playlist with PlayStation content, as well as subscribe to the PlayStation channel for more updates.
There’s also the menu bar where you can interact directly with other members of the PlayStation community, such as in their official site and the PlayStation blog. Oh, and don’t forget about the contests. Yes, there will be those alongside SCEA‘s promotional activities where fans are encouraged to submit their original content in order to participate.
Original content, you say? Yes, indeed. In fact, the PS YouTube Channel will, in the future be featuring a user-generated content section so you guys can take full advantage of the PS3’s advanced application programming interface (API).What can you take advantage of here? The ability to create game mode videos, that’s what. Cool, huh?
Also included in their future plans is to launch game-specific enhanced YouTube channels. Unsurprisingly, LittleBigPlanet will have the first slice of this pie. LBP‘s YouTube channel will go live in November, and will also feature cross-promotion with its own community.
Launch content includes more than 50 pieces of stuff, such as features for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, NBA 09: The Inside, and the PSN.
