Here’s something for PS3 gamers in the UK. If you own the PlayTV peripheral, you should know that the first update for the device is now available for download, weighing in at 19 MB.

SCEE didn’t give any formal announcements, so we are left to our own devices to figure out what’s new.

According to tipster Gt4kill3r, changes in v1.01 give you faster loading of the TV guide, and better recording. Wikipedia concurs, saying that:

• The Guide now loads data much quicker than previously with all data.
• Recoded programs now contain fewer glitches.
