Pokemon Diamond/Pearl now best-selling Pokemon title, EVAR!

We may never be able to memorize the names of all the gazillion varieties of Pokemon that there ever was, but apparently, the Pokemon franchise has lived up to its byline and has pretty much caught ’em all.

This little tidbit is being backed up by the fact that, as announced by Nintendo, less than three months after their release last September, the one-two punch which is Pokemon Diamond and Pearl has sold a total of five million copies in Japan, gracing DS Lites everywhere, and making it the biggest-selling Pokemon game that Japan has ever seen.

So will this success carry over once it’s shipped to Western shores?
