Polygunwars v0.1

PSP Homebrew - Image 1Bizarre Creations‘ insanely popular Xbox shooter Geometry Wars has spawned another homebrew game for the Sony PlayStation Portable: ahrimanes’ Polygunwars. Not to be confused with 71M‘s Trigonometry Wars PSP homebrew game, Polygunwars also lets PSP owners play a clone of the popular shooter on their handhelds.

PSP homebrew developer ahrimanes has released Polygunwars v0.1, a new take on Bizarre Creations‘ popular Xbox shooter Geometry Wars. Polygunwars is very reminiscent of 71M‘s PSP homebrew game Trigonometry Wars, since both are based on the same game.

What sets it apart are better overall effects and brighter colors. Controls are easy: the analog stick moves the ship while the triangle, X, square and O buttons fire up, down, left and right, respectively. Polygunwars was made using JGE++, dr_watson‘s hardware-accelerated 2D game SDK for the Sony PlayStation Portable.

This homebrew game is for PSPs running firmware 3.xx. This version of Polygunwars is still in beta, so if you have any bug reports or suggestions, feel free to tell ahrimanes at the QJ.NET PSP Development forums.
