Polyphony Digital: GT5 to feature 10,000 cars
Around the start of July, Polyphony Digital studio head Kazunori Yamauchi hinted that Gran Turismo 5 would feature around 700 cars. But instead of throwing all of them together in the game’s initial release, the studio was planning to gradually upload most of the vehicles as downloadable content.
Sony further added to this info earlier by stating that GT5’s initial release will carry 340 cars. What makes this news startling is that the company further noted that a further 10,000 – yes, ten thousand – cars are expected to be available soon after the game launches.
Further adding to this already-staggering number, Polyphony also announced that for a special price, clients can also opt to have their very own cars developed (a bit like Forza Motorsport 2). An initial list is available over at the read link, although we’ll be providing for a very small snippet here as well.
