Populous release date, price revealed

Well, now we’ve got additional information on this sweet little game, in the form of DS screenshots and a release date and price for the game!

According to Dengeki Online, the game is slated for a Japanese release on February 21, 2008 with a retail price of 4980 yen (US$ 45). Populous DS will also allow for four-player gaming via a wireless connection.

For those who don’t remember Populous, the game essentially placed you in the role of a god who has to help people into becoming a prosperous civilization by directing, manipulating, and intervening in the affairs of the mortals. It started a whole genre of “god games” as well, ushering in a new form of strategic gaming.
