Portable meditation engine update

Psilocybeing from our forums has released an update to his popular Portable meditation engine for the PSP.
Portable meditation is a homebrew application that plays sounds to influence your state of mind. The application is based on a program called Brain Wave Generator, that uses Binaural beats to influence your state of mind. Here’s what the developer said about this release:

I’ve managed to get mixing partially sorted, doubling the amount of voices available(so we can actually use all 8 voices now, instead of just 4. Previously I was using one channel per voice, splitting it up between the left and right earphone. Now the audio callback is responsible for two sine waves. The first which is the channel itself, and the second of another that another set of variables holds that acts as the second voice on the tandem. Both left and right channels are then mixed, and sent to the correct earphone as an advanced sine wave. I’ve removed distortion by normalising the difference over the range of the sine wave(SHRT_MAX), and it seems to of worked perfectly.”

For those that don’t understand the technical terms, this updated version has a much better sound quality than the previous release, and the audio now comes out of both earphones simultaneously. This version includes 7 presets for you to listen to. If you want to know more on what this application does, or how to edit the presets, visit the official release thread in the QJ forums.

If your not into this sort of thing, then don’t try it. But for the many who are, enjoy your relaxation! And make sure you use some decent headphones with this program, otherwise the sounds will not have the desired effect!
