PotBS: Aether’s Developer Log Shares a Successful Trip

Set sail!

A few days back, Aether updated the Pirates of the Burning Sea Flying Lab Software (FLS) developer logs. The biggest news was the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) where they had a pirate party, and it was a success. According to Aether, “So many fans showed up that we were at maximum capacity throughout the entire night, with the line to get inside stretching around the entire hotel!” And Pirates of the Burning Sea really has its share of fans (ahoy!). The LAN was “swamped with people so excited about playing the game that we could barely tear them away to make room for the next in line.”

So PAX was a big PR success for Flying Lab. But enough harping about the past. What’s in store for the future?

  • A total PotBS site redesign
  • Working with Misha to streamline and improve the Beta acceptance process
  • Coordinating a new contest for the official PotBS T-shirts
  • Working with Johnathan ‘Mapmaker’ White to complete the PotBS Game World Map
  • Scheduling Dev Team appearances from coast to coast at various public LAN and gaming events
  • Working with our plucky (if notably insolent) PotBS Community Intern Rhaegar, to unveil a new world-wide, PotBS-fan leadership initiative

We here at QJ also have some big news: International Talk Like a Pirate Day is coming up soon; it takes place on September 19.
