Presenting the Gamestop Super Smash Bros. Brawl trophy

One of the most exhilarating experiences you can go through is to hold a championship trophy above your head as the crowd cheers for you. If a Super Smash Bros. Brawl trophy is what you need, Gamestop has one for you. It looks a bit odd, though. If you wish to see it for yourself, a picture of the trophy resides in the full article after the jump.

With Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl (SSBB) tournament going on, what better way to celebrate the victory of the eventual champion than with an exquisite trophy? Gamestop has one such trophy, in fact, but depending on how you look at it, it may or may not be as appropriate as it should be.

Oddly enough, the trophy doesn’t feature any of the familiar characters or Nintendo logos that we’ve come to associate with SSBB. Instead, it shows what looks like a male wrestler in a semi-squatting position, wearing what may be an expression of bliss on his face. Inscribed on the platform underneath are the words “Smash Bros. – Local Legend of Wreckage.”

We can only surmise that the trophy’s designer was possibly misinformed about the true nature of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Opinions of the trophy vary, too – some of us thought that the wrestler was attempting to learn how to skate; others thought he had stomach problems and he needed to find a toilet quickly.

In any case, perhaps the experience of beating the odds in a Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament is its own reward, Gamestop trophy or not.
