PriceGrabber UK: PlayStation 3 post-launch searches growing, Xbox iffy

PriceGrabber UK - one of the world's premier price comparison sites - Image 1According to an official press release from PriceGrabber UK, the premier online price comparison and deal-finding service provider, the PlayStation 3 has increased an impressive 127% from the initial pre-launch deal searches for Sony‘s next-gen console.

Although not as currently impressive as the two other leaders, the PlayStation 3 search numbers are steadily growing in the six week period since it’s launch in Europe, suggesting that European gamers are hoping to get a PlayStation 3 for a really good deal, plus a definite growing interest in the console.

But still ahead of the entire pack is Nintendo‘s Wii, which just garnered a 579% increase in the six week period since its launch date. Microsoft‘s Xbox 360 is currently enjoying a 250% increase in searches since its own launch date, although it is unclear whether it is fully the Xbox 360 or Xbox console being searched.

As reported by the press release, “Searches post launch for ‘Xbox consoleÂ’ increased by 250%,” which may suggest a confusion between the two generations of consoles. Also popular in deal searches are Plasma TVs and LCD TVs, signifying that even Europe is quickly preparing for the age of the next-gen console.

What this means for 2007, we’ll just have to wait and find out soon enough.
