Prince and gothic Lolita – companions in Dragon Quest Swords

Square Enix‘s Wii venture is definitely a sight to behold. All thanks to the lovely designs of Akira Toriyama, this new Dragon Quest story has a medieval and baroque feeling to it. May I add that there’s a tinge of gothic Lolita in it too?

Well, Famitsu graced us with a little more information about Dragon Quest Swords, particularly two of the characters that we will be playing with. The names in this article have been directly translated from the Japanese. It may still be changed once the official english names are released.

The first of the lot is Setia, which, as described by Famitsu, is a lovely little girl covered in sexy clothes. If there’d be a hot gothic Lolita in the world of Dragon Quest Swords, then Setia would be the queen. Now, just by looking at Setia, it would be interesting to know she was actually a cloistered girl, raised in the monastery of Al Sword as a monk. However, trouble forced Setia to go into an adventure to find a solution for their town’s dilemma. She is a support type character; hence, you’ve got to keep her close to you.

The second character previewed by Famitsu is Dean. Dean is a noble who’s got some narcissistic issues. Why shouldn’t he? He’s the prince of Al Sword! Prince Dean has been trained in fencing and attack magic thanks to the royal family. As seen in the preview, his specialty is fire. However, even if he is the prince of the kingdom, this doesn’t stop Dean from traveling with you in your adventure.
