Prince of Persia Classic now available on Xbox Live

Prince of Persia Classic - Image 1Attention, Prince of Persia fans and those of us old enough to remember squirming at the sight of a pixellated, turban-wearing Prince getting impaled on pixellated spikes and bleeding pixellated blood: the classic platformer is now available on all Xbox Live Arcade regions, the game buffed to a next-gen shine.

For a mere pittance of 800 Microsoft Points, players will be able to stroll down memory lane once again with this single-player classic full of traps, spikes and enemies you’d have to overcome in order to escape Jaffar’s dungeon and rescue the princess. And with the Xbox 360 giving the classic an HD overhaul but retaining its original, addictive gameplay, this could very well be one of the best games ever released on Xbox Live Arcade.

Certainly good to see that with all these new genres and breakthroughs in modern gaming, those of us in the developer’s seat haven’t turned their backs yet on the good old times. Here’s hoping for more retro love from Microsoft!
