Pro Evolution Soccer 2010 won’t use Konami’s online ID codes
Konami‘s online ID codes haven’t been received well. For good reason, too. The system requires gamers to have three separate accounts just to play an online Konami game, and that’s just overkill. The good news though is that Konami is finally starting to get rid of them.
Konami‘s online ID codes haven’t been received well. For good reason, too. The system requires gamers to have three separate accounts just to play an online Konami game, and that’s just overkill. The good news though is that Konami is finally starting to get rid of them.
The first online game from the company to launch without the proprietary online IDs will be Pro Evolution Soccer 2010. According to Gamekyo, the game will have its servers provided by Sony and Microsoft so gamers won’t have to jump through hoops to play the game online.
Konami hasn’t announced a similar approach to their other upcoming online games, but hopefully the trend continues. Existing games like Metal Gear Online, however, will likely still use the system.
