Project Gotham Racing 4 update: Blaze to victory in Macau
In this latest Project Gotham Racing 4 update, Bizarre Creations welcomes you to the flavorful high-rise city of Macau, the motorsport mecca for Formula Season 3 and Motorcycle Grand Prix events. The fact that Macau is one of the foremost racing sites catering to both cars and motorcycles has made it a suitable location for Project Gotham Racing 4, the first PGR title that features bikes in its expansive garage.
One of the foremost features of Macau in PGR4 are the race tracks that tend to course through the cities and suddenly shift into the mountains, allowing for considerable variety in terrain as well as sudden weather changes in one race event. As for the dynamic weather features, players may start out with a light drizzle then bear the brunt of a full-blast typhoon once they reach the second lap of the race.
Aside from tropical storms, Microsoft‘s PGR4 racers will also see lots of fog in Macau, which Bizarre Creations are particularly proud of due to its actual depth – unlike the usual fogs in other video games that have uniform density.
Alan Mealor, the Lead Environmental Artist for the PGR4 Macau team said that it took three research trips, 24,000 photographs, as well as 8 hours of video to fully simulate the winding streets and mountain passes of this exotic locale. Macau’s 11 race tracks are fruits of Mealor and the rest of the PGR4 Macau team’s hard work, and judging by the screenshots we have below, they did a labor of love indeed.
Here’s a list of circuits in Macau:
- Instituto Politecnico
- Avenida da Amizade
- Guia Hill Park
- Estrada de S. Francisco
- Avenida de Dr. Rodrigues
- Estrada de Cacilhas
- Avenida de M. Baptista
- Guia Hairpin
