Project Starfighter Port Screenshots and Information

Deniska, creator of the 2d homebrew First Person Shooter Kill Everything that Moves, has released some information on an upcoming homebrew game currently in development for the PSP – Project: Starfighter.

Project Starfighter is Deniska’s latest project, and is a PSP port of the Parallel Realities game: Starfighter. Project: Starfighter is a 2d side scrolling shoot ’em up with some RPG/story based elements. When it’s released, the game will feature:

• 26 missions over 4 star systems
• Primary and Secondary Weapons (including a laser cannon and a charge weapon)
• A weapon power up system
• Wingmates
• Missions with Primary and Secondary Objectives
• A Variety of Missions (Protect, Destroy, etc)
• 13 different music tracks
• Boss battles

Deniska has not mentioned anything about the game’s release date, but this game looks like it could be worth the wait. Is it just me or does it remind you of a 2d version of the PC game Freelancer?
