Proof-of-concept video: SIFT algorithm in PSP Nanodesktop
Homebrew developer pegasus2000 dropped by the QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and informed us about a proof-of-concept video that shows the SIFT algorithm working under the Playstation Portable.
For those not quite familiar with it, SIFT stands for Scale-invariant feature transform and is one of the many computer vision algorithms that are used for extracting distinctive features from images. Watch the video after the jump!

These specific algorithms are highly efficient when it comes to matching different views of an object or scene as well as object recognition. The code for this was based from Robert Hess’ OpenCV with the Visilab team porting it under Nanodesktop for the PSP.
