Prophetic vision of November 17: Japan launch liiiiiiiiiiiines

Just between us. Did you know that QJ has a magic crystal ball? Yep. We can see into the future. [hesitates] OK, fine. We’re just kidding. But hey!, instead of a crystal ball, what we do have are sources. And one of our sources, NewLaunches, posted a vid of what could possibly be a foretelling of the future. These pics and the video below give us a glimpse of what November 17 would be like in North America.

These are the lines for the PS3 launch in Japan. See that sign in one of the pics on top? In English, that’s playfully translated as: “Hey kid, you weren’t a fanboy enough to have lined-up earlier. And now, you’ve got no PS3. We’re out of stock. Go home and play origami in the mean time.” Yes, it’s a (very) loose translation, but you get the point.

Now as for the vid, let’s just say that it’s 1:41 minutes long and all it ever shows is the line. Yup. That’s 1:41 minutes worth of walking down the line. Can you imagine how long it actually was? The person who video taped it started at some spot on the sidewalk (we’re not sure if he started at the end of the line) and followed the queue all the way around the corner, into an alley, into a building, down a hall, into a lobby, out the other side of the block, down another sidewalk, through an unlit portion of the street… Even by the time the video ends, we’re not even shown the end of the line!

So. Is this what we can expect next week for the U.S. launch? Better ready your gear. Seems like we’d have to camp out two to three days ahead or something.
