PS3 expo wows people in Hawaii
Now, we all know that the PS3 is one kickass machine. Well alright, a lot of Sony haters might probably disagree, but come on, you got to admit that the PS3’s worth all the buzz. Among the next gen consoles, this baby promises quite a lot, and the lucky guys who have tried it already attest to that fact. Of course, there are some drawbacks (mentioned by IGN during their hands-on) and there’s the big issue about its price, but that doesn’t rule out the fact that this console’s got power.
And it seems that this console got a lot of people really hooked. This weekend, a lot of people flocked to the 2007 Sony Expo at Hawaii. Now, if that doesn’t get the message across, let’s rephrase the sentence: Tons of people squeezed their way in the banquet hall of Ala Moana Hotel in Honolulu, just to get a glimpse of the much hyped-up PS3. And the cool part is, a lot of lucky gamers got to test out the console, too.
And basing from the people interviewed, they weren’t disappointed. A 25 year-old Army sergeant from Florida said that he was willing to “stand in line overnight” just to get his hands on the US$ 500 gaming wonder-box. Two 18-year old students, Alan Lee and Ryan Yokoyama, spent a one-hour trip just to steal around five minutes of PS3 playtime; and it seems that every minute is worth it. Lee exclaimed that it’s a lot better than he expected.
And no, this baby’s not reserved to kids or teenagers only. In fact Dyron Mack, a 35 year-old computer analyst intends to buy a PS3. When asked about the hefty price, the married man said, “I’m not going to tell her. You just show up with it and let her be mad. You just say, ‘I’m sorry. I lost the receipt.'”
How’s that for a fan? Of course, there are loads of other fans who have their own PS3 story to tell. How about you, do you have one?
