Yep, Sony has released a new firmware update for the PlayStation 3. Apparently, this update “improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software”.

Hello, I just wanted to provide everyone with a headÂ’s up that the next PLAYSTATION 3 system software update (v.2.76) will be coming soon. This is a minor update that improves the playback quality of some PS3 format software.
There’s a lot of noise on the US PlayStation boards mentioning problems downloading the firmware update, so if you can’t download it via PSN, you may want top check here for some 2.76 mirrors.
