In light of the PlayStation 3’s Folding@Home program’s macroscopic success, there’s also an update that you can download, just in case you haven’t yet. The biggest new feature of Folding@Home v1.1 is that you can now set your PS3 to automatically run Folding@Home every time it goes idle.

To run the application automatically in idle state, PS3 must be connected to the network with both the main power switch and power button turned on. Option setting must also be changed as this automatic feature is off at default.

So, now, that doesn’t give you any reason to “forget” to contribute to this medical cause. On to other good news, QJ’s Folding@Home Team has already garnered nearly 2 million points and completed 7,500 work units. Woot! Thanks for all the help, guys! Keep ’em proteins folding!
