PS3 is first choice for Ghostbusters, will get exclusive content
So why wasn’t Ghostbusters: The Video Game developed earlier? That’s because the devs at Terminal Reality were stalling! (Good things come to those who wait, yes?) As it turns out, they were waiting for some good hardware that could deliver what they felt would “do the game justice.” Good hardware? Wasn’t this what Kaz Hirai was just talking about the other day?

Well, whatever the case, enter the PS3, and that just happened to be Terminal Reality’s first choice. They’re using Sony‘s platform as their lead console for development. Speaking to PSU, executive producer Brendan Goss explains:
Sony and the talent were adamant that before they got involved with a Ghostbusters game, the tech had to be capable of providing an authentic Ghostbusters experience, and that required graphics and physics tech.
The PS3 is a more demanding system to develop on and it is what the Infernal Engine was designed to exploit from the ground up. With the multiple SPU%u2019s it has onboard a solid multithreaded engine design can really take advantage of that and give you some amazing results.
Goss also confirmed that there will be exclusive content for PS3 owners. Whether it’s going to be downloadable content or just plain exclusive on-disc content, PSU didn’t seem to specify.
