PS3 searches drop in UK
UK gamers have apparently cooled down on the Sony PlayStation 3 console, search-wise that is. Next-gen and Hitwire reported that searches for the high-end console is down by a whopping 62 percent three weeks after its PAL debut.
Searches for the PS3 rose a week prior to its March 23 release and it stayed on top of most search engines since then but it soon waned down to its current status. In contrast, rival consoles Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 enjoyed big search numbers that went down by only 14 percent after their respective launches.
Hitwire monitors searches by collecting data straight from ISPs. The service revealed that the most searched topics right now are those that may lead to finding cheap PS3s. The machine currently sells at an average price of £425 which is roughly the equivalent of US$ 850. The console’s steep price is thought by many analysts as the primary reason why interest has dropped in the machine.
Well, searches could be down because the folks from UK are already busy playing with their PS3s. What do you think?
