PS3 Slim and price cut raise sales for MGS 4
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots was released back in June 12, 2008, but it’s fairly obvious that Solid Snake is still a hot commodity. The Japanese fans only needed a little push, specifically in the form of a price drop and the new PS3 Slim.

Enterbrain president Hirokazu Hamamura corroborates this scenario in an interview with Japanese gaming site Mainichi. According to him, Hideo Kojima disclosed to him that the sales for MGS4 “improved” after the announcement of the PS3 price drop, coupled with launch of the new PS3 Slim.
