PS3 Weekend Warrior: Of the lack of price cuts and more real classics for the PSOne Classics service

The software side of things fared a bit better, and ironically enough, the biggest news this week — jump-wise — was the arrival of a 12-year old game on the PSN and the impending PSN release of another title from 11 years back. You may have already noticed that all of the console-specific Weekend Warriors this week don’t have any E3 2009 news in them. This one’s no exception. We’re saving all the E3 news for another special feature we’re putting up later today, so check that out too.

The biggest PS3 news this week? The lack of a PS3 price cut announcement, which was a huge disappointment. Again. Heck, even Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said he was disappointed about it. We also didn’t hear anything about the PS3 Slim, but seeing as how Sony just announced the PSP Go they may be trying to space out their new hardware revisions a bit further.

The software side of things fared a bit better, and ironically enough, the biggest news this week — jump-wise — was the arrival of a 12-year old game on the PSN and the impending PSN release of another title from 11 years back.
