PSM3 compared Killzone 2 CGI to Killzone 2 snippet @ GDC 2007

PSM3 scan of Killzone 2 @ GDC coverage. - Image 1The latest peek at Killzone 2 Sony/Guerrilla Games was willing to give to the press was at the PlayStation Edge briefing during GDC 2007. It was also off limits to any replay on the net – so, no one else got that same look, either, PSM3 magazine observed. Still, they were willing to give substantive judgments on that trailer compared to the CGI last E3.

Someone left this scan of the recent PSM3 in the TinyPic media sharing service. Whoever you are, thanks. Now PSM3 can’t show the GDC 2007 trailer either, but it was willing to put forward its observations:

  • “Some have griped about it not looking the equal of that E3 trailer. It’s true that it doesn’t, but it still looks excellent to us.”
  • “Animation wasn’t as smooth as the E3 footage, but at least it was in-game. It jerked at times, mind you.”
  • “Character models looked superb on the new trailer. Expressive, realistic, these impressed us greatly.”
  • “Environments were a touch jaggier and more subdued… but still quite beautiful.”

Do mind that it’s still early days for Killzone 2 (ETA 2008). With a little elbow grease, the E3 2007 (er… the not-E3-anymore E3 2007 which takes place in July, not the E4All 2007 which takes in October) Killzone 2 should look even better.
