It wasn’t too long ago that charnold dropped by the QJ.NET forums to release the 3D Editor for the PSP Dungeons: Assault Run homebrew game. After all, how cool could it be to be able to create your very own FPS environment, and be able to run through it in one go?
Cool enough, it seems, for the developer to announce an update that will give users better control of the editor’s lighting effects. Quoting charnold’s update at the forums:
- now you can put a light inside a component (wasn’t possible before, because the component blocked the lightrays, the component is lit by the light inside it)
- you can have open areas now: means, you can calculate the lightmaps now for sealed and open areas:
- “for sealed areas” works like before, it removes outside polygons, use this for sealed rooms
- “for open areas” doesn’t remove outside polygons, use this for open areas only
Those interested in reading up on more details regarding this editor will want to visit charnold’s original release thread over at the QJ.NT PSP Development Forums. Do make sure to leave your feedback – it’s greatly appreciated.
