PSP Filer 1.2 Out Now

PSP Filer v1.2

Mediumgauge has once again updated his simple File browser homebrew application for the PSP titled PSP Filer. The major addition for version 1.2 is the ability to set a wallpaper when using the program to get rid of the crude black background we have seen in previous releases. You’ll have to bear with us as far as a changelog goes because unfortunately we don’t have anyone fluent in Japanese and so an interpretation of the Google translation is the best we can get. Here it is:

  • Wallpaper support was added. When either wallpaper.bmp, wallpaper.jpg or wallpaper.png is present in the same location as the EBOOT.PBP, the wallpaper will appear in the background
  • Picture viewer wallpaper retention performance was added. During picture indicating when the START+△ button is pushed, it retains in the same position as EBOOT.PBP the picture which is in the midst of indicating as a wallpaper file wallpaper.bmp. (We think this means that by pressing Start + you can set a picture as the background, but we’re not 100% sure.)

With the sheer volume of files on PSPs these days you can never get enough file browsers, and now that PSP Filer has the wallpaper function it’s definitely one of the best looking out there – depending on your wallpaper of course!
