PSP Final Fantasy Tactics release date announced…for Japan
Final Fantasy Tactics (FFT), released internationally on January 28, 1998 for the PS, drew a lot of attention from FF fans and strategy gamers alike. It’s turned based system combined with a battle grid reminiscent of Tactics Ogre drew such a following that Square Enix released a GBA game called Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (FFTA) in 2003.
Now, ten years after FFT‘s release Final Fantasy Tactics:The Lion War for the PSP is coming out. This iteration will have full motion video and two new classes. Can lightning strike thrice in the same spot? We shall see.
The latest issue of Famitsu magazine has announced that the game will be released in Japan on May 10 of this year. It will go for ¥4,800 or about $ US 41 per game. For the international edition however, Square Enix has yet to give word on a release date for that so we will just have to be patient.
There has been no announcement yet whether there will be a collector’s edition FFT for the PSP packs like some other recent releases, but we can dream. More news as we get some.
