Homebrew coder roe-ur-boat has released a new version of AutoStart PRX, a handy homebrew plugin that allows you to configure your PSP’s buttons to fire up specified games and programs at startup. The latest update now allows you to launch your games from anywhere in the XMB.

Developer’s note:

Hey, back again with a small update to AutoStart. A few of you have asked for it to be possible to launch your games from anywhere in the XMB. Now you can do it by holding the R trigger and one of the assigned buttons. IÂ’ve also added some instructions on using the plugin as some seemed to be having problems understanding how it worked.

For those of you who are new to it, this plugin lets you launch homebrew, PSX games and ISOs on startup by pressing the configured button. You can also set something to automatically start without the need to press any buttons.

Changelogs:

  • Version 5.4:
    • Now you can launch one of the assigned games anywhere in the XMB by holding the R Trigger and the corresponding button.
    • Put some instructions on using the plugin in the readme, sorry about that.
  • Version 5.3:
    • Fixed a bug I added when I added support for Bubbletunes Game Categories.
    • Fixed a bug where the configurator would crash if an ISO had no name…
    • New GUI courtesy of aspheric.
  • Version 5.2:
    • Fixed a stack overflow bug that caused random crashes.
