PSP – Made In China

Sony Computer Entertainment has started the manufacture of PSP units in the mainland of China from August.

So far the PSPs have been made in Japan. But before the launch in Europe, Sony investigated in moving the manufacture into China, and carried it out after that. The manufacture was in cooperation with a Taiwan company. The factory is located in Shenzhen, China.

Sony’s intention is to reduce the cost of manufacture by using cheaper labor in China, as well as higher productivity.
