PSP MP3 Player Ruckus v1.0b1 Now Out
Captain Dan has just released released the first beta version of his homebrew MP3 player for the PSP, Ruckus. It looks promising as it provides most of the functionalities of a professional CD player, which includes cueing tracks with 1/60 second precision, as well as tempo adjustment options, and pitch blend. However, because this is a beta release, the creator recommends this application only for casual use. Well, for the moment at least, as the current features of this application hints at more comprehensive things such as the tempo adjustment operating “identically to the pitch selector on a professional turntable”. Perhaps we’ll soon be able to mix tracks on our PSPs? We’ll have to wait and see.
In the meantime, Captain Dan has also put together user’s guide, complete with pictures, on his website for everyone who wants to give this application a spin. Ruckus can be used with PSP Firmware v1.5.
