pspbeeb

PSPBeep
, the BBC Micro Emulator for PSP has been updated by Zx-81.

Changleog for PSPBeeb v1.0.3 includes:

  • New Speed optimization
  • Added screen resize menu (x1.25, x1.5, x2)
  • Added .img disk file support
  • Added a file (run.txt) to specify association between the disk name and the name of the program to run (file yyy.img -> CHAIN”xxx”)
  • Added Analog pad mapping (in .kbd file format and in the key mapping editor)
  • Added shortcut to *CAT and CHAIN”xxx” command
  • Option to swap between cursor and analog pad is now working

If you have not been following Zx-81’s homebrew here’s a quick flashback:

Zx-81 ported Beebm to the PSP. He successfully modified and ported the source code of the 0.0.4 version from Dave Eggleston using PSPSDK environment. PSPBeeb has been developed on linux for Firmware 2.5 using GTA eLoader (0.9.7), but it should work properly on other firmwares. The BBC Micro, the Beeb for short, was an early home computer designed and built by Acorn Computers Ltd and first released in 1981. The Beeb was often used for educational uses in schools and homes before today’s PCs took over the world. As for the old Beeb games (which is the whole point of the PSPBeeb) you can find them here.

The PSBeeb v1.0.3 zip file contains a README.txt file, two binary versions (for 2.x and 1.5 FW) and sources under “Beebem” license. The COPYING.txt file contains more information about the sources.
