PspKanji v2.3 – now with Mac port, support for M33
Interested in learning the Japanese language? Here’s a good Japanese Kanji study aid, PspKanji, and the latest release now includes support for M33 CFW and a port for the Mac platform. It’s been more than a year since homebrew developer Aion came up with the previous version of PspKanji. In case you forget, do take note that this is different from another Kanji study aid for the PSP, PSP Kanji Learner. There has been a lot of changes applied since we last covered it, and this include giving some love to Mac users by porting the PspKanji for the Mac.

Version 2.3 Alpha
Added:
- Support for M33 Custom firmware and thus functional on the PspLite
- New Kanji card mode that allow to see Kanji’s strokes order
- Kanji list loaded through Xml files, granting more options
- Configuration option for language and startup Kanji list autoload
- Ported to run on the Mac with OpenGl. (Shouldn’t be too hard to run on linux)
- Support for French
- Support for Italian
Fix:
- Drawing problem with certain text.
Version 2.2 Alpha
Fix:
- Kanji list scrolling wasn’t displaying Kanjis in their proper order.
- In Hiragana/Katakana quiz, 1st letter of 3 letters kanas was not displayed.

- Increased maximum number of kanjis in a list, from 1024 to 4096
Added:
- Kanji List now support index from “Remembering the Kanji” by James W. Heisig (DL + Index). See online [documentation] for how to create kanji list
Fix:
- Request – 1693256 – When selecting any of the Katakana quizzes from the menu, the Hiragana quizzes display instead
- Request – 1762989 / 1742852 – When selecting the Quiz from traduction to Kanji, after the 1st question the quiz display the kanji instead of translation as question
- Request – 1762967 – When an entry in KanjiDic does not have any kunyomi readings the program will display kunyomi from another kanji
