Homebrew developer Zx-81 dropped by the QJ.NET forums earlier to announce the release of the final build for PSPMSX, the PSP port of the the MSX, MSX2, and MSX2+ 8bit home computer emulator. The application is based on the original fMSX emulator by Marat Fayzullin, which in turn was eventually ported to SDL by Vincent van Dam. Here are the latest changes to this application since PSPMSX v1.2.0:

  • New render fast mode (original msx size but faster)
  • Option to prevent the blue led to be displayed when
  • L or R are pressed
  • Remove .png file when removing state file
  • Bug fix: random pixels colors on screen borders
  • IR keyboard works now also with in the keyboard settings/mapping menu

As with all of Zx-81’s applications, we advise users to go through the readme included with the file bundle first – all installation and user instructions are included there. If you follow the instructions properly, you’ll be playing your copy of PuyoPuyo before you know it. Enjoy the download, and keep on the lookout in case Zx-81 makes a surprise update for this PSP-based emulator.
