PSPThom v1.0.0: A TO7-70 emulator for the PSP
If you fondly remember what a Thomson TO7-70 home computer is, you’re a d**n good computer studies student, a total tech geek, or you’re old enough that you might be outside of our readership’s average age bracket (in the third case, we can’t explain why you’re reading this right now…).
Okay, before this post descends into old fart jokes… prolific dev zx-81 decided to do a port of an emu of the Thomson TO7-70 home computer for use with the PSP. The original emu was written by one Sylvain Huet in 1996, and later improved by one Eric Botcazu, for MacOS, Windows, and Unix. zx-81 took the Thom 1.5.5 emu and haxxed it for the PSP as PSPThom v1.0.0.
It’s developed on Linux for FW 1.5, he says, and he hopes it works for 2.x via eLoader. Instructions are in the all-important, please-read-first Readme.
If you want to know what you can pull off with the PSPThom, you can check out the forum discussion thread for ideas from zx-81 and others. It can actually be quite cool, for an old fart. I mean, I’m looking at a link for an Airbus simulator for the Thom PC emu right now…
And now you are, too. Does the sim work in PSPThom, zx-81?
(zx-81 acknowledgements: ” Special thanks to all PSPSDK developers, and to XazZ for his comments, feedback and suggestions.”)
