Q&A with Lego Star Wars Dev Director
The guys at Cubed3 was lucky enough to score an interview with Jonathan Smith, development director for Traveller’s Tales, the UK dev team who worked on Lego Star Wars II.
The interview did not tackle the features of the versions of the said game on the PSP, DS, and Xbox360 because, well, you guys have probably already played the game since its release last month. But what does make the interview interesting is the part where C3 begins to ask Smith about the team’s plans to port the game to the Wii as well, and whether there will be more Lego titles up the team’s sleeve.
Here’s a snippet from the interview where they talk about possible Lego titles in the future:
C3: More Lego videogames have recently been confirmed. Will your team be involved in any of these and if so, could you give us any hint at what to expect from them?
JS: Yes, we do have the publishing rights to make more LEGO games in the future, and I have said that weÂ’ll definitely continue to push the LEGO gaming idea further forward.
When asked whether there are also plans on future collaborations with Sega (the team also worked on Sonic 3D and Super Monkey Ball), Smith says, “We have a number of very cool games underway at the moment, but IÂ’m afraid I canÂ’t speak specifically about unannounced projects.“ The
latter part of the interview tackles the possibility of porting the Lego Star Wars game to the Wii.
